About IPPI....

The Beginning

Irrigation Pumps and Power was founded in 1977 in Muleshoe, Texas by Don McElroy. Don came to Muleshoe to start a pump sales and servicing business. Don's business was successful because he knew which pumps produced the best results for a particular application and how to maximize efficiency by using the correct pump.

Center Pivots

It wasn't long after coming to Muleshoe that Don had the opportunity to enter the center pivot business. Center pivots were breakthrough technology and promised to conserve water and energy as well as increase output. IPPI became the top distributor for Zimmatic and the company won numerous sales awards as the center pivot business grew.

Drip Technology

IPPI has always been an early-adopter of productive change. Don's work with the Region O Water Planning Group led him to believe that more efficient use of the available water supply was critical to the region's long-term economic survival. Coupling these two needs--to increase production and conserve water--led IPPI to its most recent innovation. In 2001, IPPI brought drip technology to the Muleshoe area. Because of the continuing decrease in the groundwater supply and the financial pressure on farmers due to low commodity prices, drip technology offers an important step forward.

IPPI Chooses Netafim

IPPI represents Netafim products. Netafim was an obvious choice because of its role in pioneering drip technology in the water-starved middle east. Along with high quality parts and sound system design, Netafim developed an entire farming system which, when properly implemented, yields impressive increases in agricultural production.

Ditching / Pipe & Wire Lines

IPPI has always been a place to shop for true 'Turn-Key' irrigation service. In the past we would line up the work and contract the ditching out to contractors. This has worked out well but we were always at the mercy of the contractors schedule. When you are ready to lay a water line, electric line, or replace that old pumpstand; all you have to do is call the office and we will let you know when we will be there to take care of your needs.
